It’s winter and the typical Canadian weather this February is keeping my enthusiasm at bay each time I think about going out and doing some outdoor photo shooting. I am, however, finding myself drawn to doing something photo-related these days, so the solution to my dilemma turned out to be to revisit some images from long, long, ago.

I browsed, and I settled on a photo walk from back in 2011, when I went out to a place called Windy Mountain, along the Grand Valley Trail, near Cambridge, Ontario, with my photographer friend Marko, and a few others.

I’ve once again gained a new appreciation for shooting in the RAW format; the fact that years of improvement in software allow me to produce images that look more like that which I want to express, whereas back in the day technological limitations would have played a role in what I am actually able to do with that which my camera captures. There still are limits to what can be done with a captured image, but this is a small success story, and a good ending to a gloomy and cold winter day. Enjoy.
