Lately I’ve managed to take a look at some of my earlier works of this year (not to mention that I have some 100gigabytes to back up onto DVD and unclog my poor hard drives) and I’ve put together these two photo-essays.

When it comes to black and white photography I find myself attracted to the high contrast style. In some way I feel that way I can be a Johnny Cash of photography. Through his sombre image, Johnny Cash, I find, was a sober voice of reason, that had the authority to openly speak of the nature of human struggle; human weakness, need, passion and temptation, as well as the constant fight to return to the path of righteousness.

I am by no means a Johnny Cash! I do however feel that in high contrast black and white photography I find a hint of the fascinating flavour that I love in his music.
